SERAPH AND SHADOW

Seraph & Shadow is a fashion collection that embodies the beauty of duality, merging ethereal elegance with a rebellious edge. Inspired by the philosophy of Yin-Yang, this collection fuses Flower Knows with Vivienne Westwood, creating a harmonious contrast between the light and the dark.

Studio Project 2 was about collaborating one fashion brand with another brand that is related to design, but not fashion. 

My group chose Vivienne Westwood x Flower Knows and we each had our own concepts, mine being yin-yang. Yin-yang is the balance of opposites coexisting in harmony. I thought that this would align perfectly with the collaboration of the two brands as Vivienne Westwood is punk while Flower Knows is known for its whimsical and ethereal aesthetics. 

Through this concept, I wanted to explore how opposing looks can enhance instead of overpowering each other.

VOIDCULTURE X SURREALISM

The world is feeling increasingly uncertain and fragmented. Hence, VoidCulture emerges as a beacon of raw expression and authentic connection. Founded from a desire to create a space where individuality meets a shared experience, VoidCulture was born to capture the rebellion and resilience of the human spirit. “Void" represents the emptiness we all sometimes feel. It’s a place stripped of the noise, allowing each piece to speak to those who feel misunderstood or out of place.

"Culture," is what fills this void. It signifies the connections we build through shared experiences, ideas, and values, even in a world that feels detached. VoidCulture strives to unite those who feel alone, giving them a sense of belonging and amplifying their voices. This brand is for those who refuse to blend in, who wear their stories, scars, and aspirations openly.

I was then tasked to do a brand collaboration and ended up with:

The photoshoot was done at Istana Woodneuk and I chose that location as it fit into my brand concept of a dystopian world.

I added some surreal elements such as the melting clock, bright distorted doorways and the floating shattered mask to fit into the brand collaboration of VoidCulture x Surrealism.

SIGNATURE GOWN

I had to design a signature gown with a bustier top, a draped layer with embellishments, and a zero-waste draped skirt.
